TYPES OF DATA PROCESSED

Navigation data

The computer systems and software procedures used to operate this website collect, in the course of their normal operation, certain personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. This information is not collected to be associated with identified individuals, but by its very nature could allow users to be identified. This category of data includes IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by users who connect to the site, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of the resources requested, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file received in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the server’s response (success, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the user’s operating system and computing environment. These data are used solely to obtain anonymous statistical information about the use of the site and to monitor its correct operation, and are deleted immediately after processing. The data may also be used to investigate liability in the event of hypothetical computer crimes against the site.

Data voluntarily provided by the user

The optional, explicit and voluntary submission of personal data by the user through registration forms and/or to the email addresses on this site results in the subsequent acquisition of the data provided by the sender, which is necessary to provide the requested service. Specific summary notices will be displayed or shown on the relevant pages of the site for particular services upon request.

COOKIES

Cookies are small text files that are deposited on the user’s computer by the websites they visit. They are primarily used to make websites work and operate more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the website owners. Cookies can be first-party or third-party. In the first case, cookies are managed by the site owner, who is responsible for the disclosure obligation and for indicating how to block the cookie if desired. In the second case, cookies are managed by a third party other than the site owner. For these cookies, the disclosure obligation and indication of how to block them lies with the third party, while the site owner is required to include a link to the third party’s site where such information is available. The cookies stored by our site are listed below.

1. Necessary cookies, to the extent strictly necessary for browsing and using the website. The use of session technical cookies in particular is limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to allow safe and efficient browsing of the site. These cookies avoid the use of other IT techniques that could potentially be prejudicial to users’ browsing privacy and do not allow the acquisition of personal identifying data of the user. No personal data of users is acquired by the site in this regard. Cookies are not used to transmit personal information, nor are so-called persistent cookies of any kind used, i.e. systems for tracking users.

2. Analytical cookies (e.g. Google Analytics), used to collect and analyse information on how websites are used (such as the time and day of the visit, any previous visits to the site by the same visitor, the referring site, etc.). This information (including the user’s IP address) is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it to produce reports for V.i.p. Italia S.r.l. on activity on their website, and is used to improve the site. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data it holds, nor does it seek to link an IP address with the identity of a user. Google may also communicate this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.

3. Profiling or advertising cookies, used to present content that is more relevant to you and your interests. They may be used to display targeted advertisements or to limit the number of times you see an advertisement. They also help us measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns on websites. We collect information used for interest-based advertising, according to certain general categories of interest or segments inferred from: the web pages you view and the links you click on our websites and those of other companies you visit; the brand emails you read and the links you click within emails. The majority of cookies of this type track users through their IP address and may therefore collect some personally identifiable information, which is why your consent is required. We may also use other tracking systems such as “pixel tags”. Pixel tags, sometimes called “web beacons”, function similarly to cookies but, due to their infinitesimal size, are not visible. They are nonetheless used to collect certain information on our servers for the purpose of personalising our websites and tracking the user’s browsing across other websites. We may also use pixel tags in HTML emails. In any case, the information is not personally identifiable, although it may be linked to your personal data.

Do we use third-party cookies?

We use various providers who may also set cookies on your device on our behalf when you visit our Sites, in order to enable them to deliver the services they are providing. Any third-party links or advertisements on our site may also use cookies; by clicking on a link to a third-party site or on an advertisement, you may receive these cookies. We cannot control the collection or use of information by these third parties, whose cookies are not subject to this Privacy Policy. However, you can refuse consent to their installation by visiting the various third-party sites. For more information on how Google collects and uses data, we recommend consulting the site: www.google.it/policies/privacy/partners/.
